Solas Handbags

Perhaps its an occupational hazard of blogging and writing about fashion, but it's not often that I see something that really excites me. Today, however, at Bess & Loie (a new handbag store in the West Loop if you're a Chicago local), I discovered Solas bags.

These aren't just any cute handbags. When you open them, they light up, allowing you to find your keys/cash/ID/whatever at lightning speed, no matter where you are. Perfect for dark bars and restaurants!

Solas doesn't forsake style for utility, either. All of the bags are attractive (I personally like the metallic clutches with the chain-link strap) and right on trend - lots of patent, exotic skins, and the aforementioned metallics. Everything is high quality leather and the price points are fairly reasonable ($100-300), especially when you consider how useful they are!
