Nine West going designer!

Nine West is the next brand to cash in on the trend of big names designing at low price points. Since they are usually pretty quick to knock off high end designers (and I'm certainly not faulting them for that - I think that Nine West shoes are great for the price, especially if you can find them on sale), having a few of those designers do capsule collections is really the next logical step.

The company has signed Sophie Kokosalaki, Thakoon Panichgul, and Vivienne Westwood, and the goods will be in stores for three month installments starting in September. What's more is that this is only the first in a series of collaborations with both established designers and rising stars.

Personally, I'm thrilled that Nine West is using some "lesser-known" designers - it is a great way for them to reach the mainstream. It is also a great way for people like me to get some fabulous stuff for equally fabulous prices!
